Sokoto Ministry Of Budget Moving On Positive Trajectory–Dr. Zayyana

Sokoto. State Commsioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana has disclosed that the ministryis surely on a positive trajetory, despite not reaching their performance target yet. 

Dr. Zayyana who spoke at the 2025 Staff and Partners  Award night, said it’s a morale booster to not only congratulates but also appreciate  outstanding contributions of staff and partners for their true commitment and professionalism.

While stressing the award, though

 debut, was part of the ministry’s commitment to excellence and its desire to promote a culture of recognition and reward for hard work and dedication.

And to help in  sustaining the milestone, Dr Zayanna implored staff to uphold their  hard work and dedication even as he appealed to partners and associates for sustain commitment, perseverance, teamwork, shared responsibilities and collaboration. 

He further expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu for his unwavering support to the ministry which was the reason for their achivements on set out goals and objectives thus far.

Earlier, in her address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Maryam Ahmad Barade, highlighted the ministry’s steadfast commitment to discharging its mandate of Planning Budgeting and economic coordination for the development of the state.

Hajiya Barade also recognised the timeless effort, mentorship, leadership and guidance of the Commissioner Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, which have greatly strengthened the performance and impact of the ministry.

In a vote of thank on behalf of the awardees, Tambuwal Local Government chairman who is also the ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for recognizing their contributions as instrumental in driving its success and pledged to sustain the  partnership.

Other recipients of the award included, United Nations For Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), State Accountant General, Executive Secretary Sokoto State Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (SOSMEDA) and the District Head of Gagi, among others.
