Succession Plan: Yobe Govt Develops Civil Service Training Guide, Template, Others
Concerned with the increase in the number of retiring officers in the civil service, the Yobe State Government in collaboration with the management & Consultants of B&G Human Resource Limited has organized a retreat and validation workshop on the development of training guide and succession plan for Yobe State civil service.
A statement issued by the chief information officer Office of the Head of Service, Alhassan Sule Mamudo indicated that the HoS has while declaring the retreat open said, governor Mai Mala Buni remained committed and resolute to ensuring efficiency in the state’s civil service.
Hamidu stated that the governor has since inception been passionate on enhancing the performance of the civil servant through training and retraining of civil servants with a view to ensuring a sustainable succession plan adding that the development of the training guide for the state civil service will no doubt enhance efficiency especially that the state do not have such documents since the creation in 1991.
He described the approval of the development of the training guide and the template by the governor as an important foresight that will be a pedestrian for the future trajectory of the state civil service.
The Head of Service revealed that the creation of the template could not have come at a better time than now, especially that the state is recuperating from the activities of the insurgents that have ravaged the North East for more than a decade.
“The fact that the state is yearning for a durable and sustainable solution to its numerous humanitarian, economic, and human capital challenges, the state civil service has indeed formed part of the priority of this administration.
“This and other various achievements in terms of training our workforce have indeed rekindled hope in the minds of our peace loving and progressive Civil Servants.”

Hamidu enjoined the participants; to consider their selection to the program as a privilege that will add value to the lives of the people adding that their input will serve as the basis to compile the documents for the improvement of the effort towards human capital development.
He employed the management of B&G consultants, to create an interactive forum between the participants in order to obtain reasonable, cogent, and verifiable information that will lead to the production of the document.
The permanent secretary Public Service, Office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Dr. Bukar Kilo has in a welcome address expressed deepest gratitude to governor Mai Mala Buni for approving the training development.
