Taraba: APC presents flags to candidates ahead of Nov. 18th polls

Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo

The All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba State has presented flags to Chairmanship and councilorship candidates of the party  ahead of the November 18th local government elections in the state.

State Chairman of the Party Alhaji Ibrahim Elsudi who presented the flags to the candidates at the party secretariat on Wednesday urges them to go and campaign vigorously, and to strictly avoid utterances or actions that could precipitate crisis.

El-Sudi, who was represented by the State Secretary of the Party Honorable Felix Francis said that he was confident that if a level playing field is provided, the party will enjoy an overwhelming victory as the people are ready to support the party to victory.

“Let me tell you that it was our internal wrangling that cost us in the past elections but now we have resolved our issues and we would win overwhelmingly. The State election body has assured us that they will be fair to all parties and so we hope that the SIEC will be fair this time, unlike the last time.

“We are also hopeful that the security agencies will provide security for all. For us as a party, we are fully prepared for the election and are confident that we would win. Unlike the ruling PDP, we did not impose candidates on the people. We allowed them to chose the people they want and I can tell you that even people in other parties are already celebrating our process and choice of candidates that we are fielding for this election”.

Mr Solomon Jabana,  Northern zone Vice Chairman of the APC in Taraba State told the people that “politics is not war. Let us play the game by the rules. There is no need for violence. I am calling on my party members to campaign peacefully and conduct themselves with diplomacy and decorum. Victory is already within our grip and no amount of provocation should make anyone react with violence”.
