Taraba NUJ gets new Chapel

The Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Wednesday inaugurated the Worldview Magazine Chapel with Mr Jethro Saaior Yerga as pioneer Chairman, bringing the total number of Chapels in a state to six.
The state Chairman of the Union Mr David Nya who inaugurated the new Chapel said that this was a move to further strengthen the media practice in the state and to organize journalists in the state under a strong fold for proper administration.
Nya said that the union is not leaving any stone unturned to rid the union of quacks in the state and to ensure that journalists are duly protected and given the deserved treatment by all sections of the society.

The Editor in Chief of the Magazine Mr Williams Ayooso in his speech noted that the journey has been both beautiful and ugly with a lot of challenges and great moments that have helped to shape and sharpen the Magazine to the point of becoming an independent Chapel.
Ayooso said that the magazine was established with a vision to “promote a practice direction that will build a hedge of fairness, objectivity and honesty around the society and sustain the quality of reportage that will broaden the world view of readers on issues of regional, national and international concern” and a mission to “ensure that the voices of the people especially as it relates to their well-being is projected and heard, even as we strive to continually hold the custodian of leadership and Democratic process accountable to their service delivery demands”.
The Chairman of the Chapel Mr Jethro Saaior Yerga in his speech assured that his leadership would focus on giving the needed cooperation to the union in the state and at the national level and make sure that highest ethical and professional standards are upheld and respected by members of the chapel at all times.
Yerga appealed to all the journalists in the state to regard them as their new baby and give them all the needed cooperation and assistance to enable succeed at their work both as journalists and as a Chapel.
