THE GOVERNOR OF ADAMAWA STATE DECLARES THAT BOTH THE FWA AND THE MUZONG RULING CLANS CAN CONTEST THE VACANT STOOL OF MURUM MBULA

Yesterday, the critical stakeholders of Mbula people were on thank you visit to the Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency (Rt Hon) Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for supporting and assisting in the befitting burial of the late Murum Mbula, Murum Joram Joel Fwa.

The chairman of Demsa Local government, Hon. Elkanah Kados Fwa spoke first by thanking the Governor for not only assisting in the burial but was also being physically present with large encourage. This demonstrated his love for the people of Mbula Chiefdom.

In his own remarks, the Overseer of Mbula chiefdom, Prince Fenny Fwa said the people of Mbula couldn’t thank the Governor enough for his magnanimity, benevolence, generosity; that the love and compassion that he showered to Mbula people on the demise of the late monarch will remain indelible in the memory of the minds of Mbula people for a long time.

He further stressed that the Governor’s assistance was not only in the burial of the late monarch but he assisted financially to defray the cost of his medication for the period he was sick.

Prince Fwa said the love and concern for the Mbula nation by Governor Fintiri has been extended to delivery of democratic dividends through developmental projects as well as appointing our sons and daughters in strategic positions such as the MD of Home & Savings, the GM of Urban Planning and Development Board and the Executive Secretary of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board. That is in addition to the appointment of many special advisers, Permanent Secretaries, chairmen of boards. The Overseer said he stood to be corrected that the Mbula nation has never had it so good in almost 30 years of existence of Adamawa state.

Within the two years of the Fintiri administration, the Borrong General Hospital was renovated and refurbished and the Borrong- Labodo road that was badly constructed was refixed thereby making Borrong accessible all year round.

It will therefore not be out of place to commend the Governor for being always there for Mbula people and assured that the Mbula nation Will be eternally grateful to the Fintiri administration for the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

In his response, His Excellency once again commiserated with the people of Mbula for the loss of such a icon whose monumental achievements were felt in the state in particular and the nation at large. He called on the people of Mbula to extol the virtuous of late Murum for the purpose of bringing about quantum development in the chiefdom. That the vacuum created by the late monarch will be difficult to fill.

He further said that though we are still mourning the demise of the paramount, but the vacant stool left by the monarch must be occupied.

Consequently he enjoined the good people of Mbula, particularly the Kingmakers to ensure the custom and tradition of Mbula people with regard to the selection of the Murum are strictly followed. In doing that they should take cognizance of the fact the person so selected is the most qualified in terms of competence, experience and charisma.

He emphasized the stool is opened to both the two ruling houses namely: the Fwas and Muzongs.

He assured the Mbula people once the customs and traditions are strictly followed in the selection process, he would definitely approved the candidate nominated.

With these remarks, the courtesy call was concluded.
