We’ve not approved N70,000 new minimum wage — Yobe govt

The Yobe State Government has said it has not approved the N70,000 new minimum wage.

The government refuted claims circulating online about approving a new minimum wage, describing the information as false and misleading.

In a statement issued in Damaturu on Thursday, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs for Governor Mai Mala Buni, clarified that the state government has not yet made any official announcement regarding the new minimum wage.

The government is still in the process of deliberation and will issue a formal statement once a decision has been reached.

“The Yobe Government has been made aware of a false and misleading social media post claiming that a new minimum wage has been approved.
