WHY YARI DESERVES TO BE NEXT APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN—-SHA’AYA S FAWA

A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Zamfara state, Alhaji Sha’aya Sarkin-Fawa says the former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari deserved to be the next national chairman of APC.

Sarkin-Fawa who stated this in an interview with Journalists, in Gusau on Thursday, noted that Yari was capable to lead the APC ahead of 2023 general elections in the country.

He said that the former governor was a competent in politics.

He added that he was a grassroots politician who had experience of both local and national politics.

“Yari is among the Nigerian politicians that formed the APC and in his political history he has never defected to other political party.

“He was the State Secretary and Chairman of the defunct ANPP and then member, house of reps, Anka/Talata Mafara, Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.

“In 2011 Yari was elected as governor of Zamfara under the platform of the same ANPP.

“Considering his experience as the longest serving Nigerian Governors’ Forum Chairman, Yari has the qualities to become a national chairman of the APC,” Sarkin-Fawa added.

He called on the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party, led by Gov Mai Mala Buni to do the needful for the party to succeed in the 2023 general elections.

“Transparency and credibility must be ensured in making effort to organise the national convention.

“Failure to do that may end up giving the chance to opposition, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to take over power,” he explained.
