Yobe govt completed N7.95bn road projects in 2024 – Commissioner
Yobe State Government spent over N7.95 billion on the construction of 11 major roads across the state since January, the News Agency of Nigeria.
The state Commissioner for Works, Umar Duddaye, stated this in a statement issued in Damaturu on Tuesday.
Mr Duddaye listed the roads to include the 10-kilometre Chumbusko-Tagali road constructed at over N3.4 billion and Jajimaji-Karasuwa road constructed at the cost of over N2 billion.
Mr Duddaye said that over N582.9 million was spent on township roads and drainages in Potiskum.
While putting the Damagum township roads and drainage system project at N530.4 million, the commissioner said that the Kayayya Bridge earthworks in Geidam was completed at the cost of N294.9 million.

He said that N98.6 million was also spent on rehabilitation of Biriri-Babbangida road, N93.1 million on applying asphalt at Bukar Abba Ibrahim Estate entrance, Damaturu and N69.9 million on renovation of Buni Yadi-Buni Gari road.
Mr Duddaye said that N62.8 million and N32.9 million were spent on total rehabilitation of Katarko-Goniri road and construction of a triple box culvert at Kayayya in Geidam, respectively.
He listed some of the ongoing road projects in the state to include: Damaturu-Kalallawa dual carriageway, Geidam-Bukarti, Nguru-Bulanguwa, Kanamma-Yunusari, Gashua-Masaba and Fika-Maluri.
He said others were Kukuri-Chukuriya, Potiskum township roads, Nguru-Karasuwa and construction of Damaturu City Gates.
Mr Duddaye commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for his supportive role in achieving the feat.
