Yobe Govt constitutes committee on new minimum wage implementation
The Yobe Government has constituted a 10-member committee for the implementation of the new minimum wage.
This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Alhassan Mamudo, Chief Information Officer, Office of the state’s Head of Service, in Damaturu on Friday.
He said the committee would be co-chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Wali, and the state’s Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Hamidu Alhaji.
Other members are Alhaji Mohammed Geidam, the Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Garba Gagiyo, Commissioner for Budget and Economic planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Jajere, Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the State Accountant General, Alhaji Mohammed Dingiri.

Other members are Mr Mukhtar Tarabutu, Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Mr Bulama Musa, Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), while the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Shuaibu Ibrahim Amshi, and Permanent Secretary, Public Service, Office of the HoS, Dr. Bukar Kilo, will serve as secretary and co-secretary respectively.
He said the committee would work out modalities for the successful implementation of the new national minimum wage in the state.
“ The committee will also determine the financial implication of the implementation of the new minimum wage at the ttate and local governments in addition to making recommendations for government consideration,” Mamudo said.
