Yobe Govt reiterates commitment to civil servants’ capacity building

Yobe Government has restated its commitment to the professional development and welfare of its workforce through merit-based promotion and continuous capacity building.

The State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Bularafa, made the disclosure while monitoring the ongoing civil service promotion examinations across designated centres in the state.

Bularafa visited the examination centres located at Government Girls’ Unity College, Damaturu; College of Administration, Management and Technology (CAMTECH), Potiskum; and Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua.

He said the government remained resolute in ensuring that civil servants were given opportunities to grow through fair and transparent promotion processes anchored on merit and performance.

“This promotion examination underscores the government’s commitment to career progression based on merit.

“We expect the candidates to reciprocate this gesture by upholding diligence, professionalism and integrity in service delivery,” he said.

The Head of Service also interacted with the candidates and supervisors to ascertain the integrity of the examination process and wished the participants success in their assessments.

While commending the level of preparedness and orderliness at the centres, Bularafa reiterated the importance of a professional workforce in achieving the development goals of the state.

Also speaking, the Rector of CAMTECH, Potiskum, Dr Ibrahim Bomai, assured the government of the institution’s readiness to continue supporting credible examination processes for the state civil service.

Bularafa was accompanied on the inspection tour by key officials, including the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Alhaji Shuaibu Amshi; Director of Administration, Alhaji Mohammed Gambo among others.
