Yobe Grand Khadi pledged to expedite justice delivery in the state’s Shari’a courts.

 … Visited 54 different Shari’a courts.

 The state Grand Khadi, Khadi Abba Alhaji Mammadi made the pledge after completing his statewide tour of Shari’a courts to expedite justice delivery, strengthen judiciary service and modernise operations by integrating new technologies.

 Justice Abba Mammadi emphasised that the integration of technology would ensure fairness, transparency and efficiency, as well as overcoming delays in adjudication.

 He added that the initiative would also improve case management and build public confidence through innovation and adherence to Shari’a principles.

 The Grand Khadi’s tours of sharia courts in all three 3 senatorial zones of the state inspected 54 courts, including zonal offices, to assess needs and implement reforms for effective service delivery.

The purpose of the tour was to see things for my self in both lower and upper courts to find a proper solution the Grand Khadi added.

 Khadi Abba Alhaji Mammadi expressed gratitude to the state governor, Dr Mai Mala Buni, for his unwavering support of the justice sector in the state and appealed for accommodation to judges, construction of an office complex, among others.

 Earlier, the chief inspector of the state Shari’a courts division, Damaturu Shari’a court of appeal, Mallam Haruna Maluri, commended the grand khadi’s foresight in the ongoing efforts to upgrade the state judicial framework by initiating various reforms.

 According to the chief inspector, the working tour is essential in the dispensation of justice, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas.

 Mallam Haruna Maluri appreciate the state government’s efforts under the able leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni for giving all the necessary support to the justice sector and appeals for continued support to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

 Speaking on behalf of zonal inspectors, principal upper Shari’a Alkali and zonal inspector zone C, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad, said the inspection tour is a wake-up call to judges to improve performance.

 Alhaji Hassan Muhammad reaffirmed that the visit would no doubt boost the morale of the staff of the judiciary on punctuality and dedication to duties.

 During the working tour to Yobe North senatorial district, the state grand khadi visited Jakusko, Garin Alkali, Gashua 1 and 2, Yusufari, Nguru, Machina and Karasuwa lower and upper Shari’a courts as well as royal homage to the emirs of Nguru and Machina respectively.

 The grand khadi was accompanied on the tour by Khadi Hafiz Sheriff Tahir, deputy chief registrar Mustapha Wakil, deputy chief inspector Ja’afar Gambo Lawan and director of finance and supply, Sharia Courts Division, Damaturu, Alhaji Fantami Garbai among other top management staff.
