Yobe ministry meet with 79 principal to make education accessible to every child.

Yobe state  commissioner ministry for basic and secondary education Dr Abba Idris Adam has charged principals of government secondary schools to redouble their efforts to improving the education system in the state.

He gave the charge when he met with 79 principals of government senior secondary schools at the NEDC multipurpose hall in Damaturu.

Dr Abba Idris who described the principals as the drivers, the propagators and guardians of education in the state, noted that all the successes the education sector is recording is as a result of their hard work.

The commissioner said there are some key challenges bedeviling the education sector in the state, which include WAEC and NECO digitization and registration, functional computer laboratory, stable uninterrupted power supply, and functional water system in all the schools across the state.

Abba Idris Adam however appreciated the effort of Governor Mai Mala Buni for signing a MoU with rural

electrification Board in order to provide solar power panels to schools particularly in the rural areas.

He therefore said that with their support and corporation they are going to address the challenges, pointing out that they will improve the quality of education in Yobe state to be worthy of emulation from other states.

Earlier, the permanent secretary of the ministry Dr. Bukar Aji Bukar said the aims of the meeting was to move  the state forward educationally.

Dr. Bukar Aji Bukar said the state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni is making concerted efforts to make education accessible to every child.
