Yobe NUJ Commends Governor Buni for Transformative Initiatives in Education, Healthcare, and Employment
The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Yobe State Chapter has expressed its admiration for Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration, citing remarkable development projects spanning various sectors within the state that directly enhance the lives of its citizens.

Comrade Rajab Mohammed Ismail, chairman of the union, conveyed this commendation during a press briefing on Thursday, following the union’s recent tour to assess the state and local governments’ efforts in advancing the welfare of the populace.

Rajab highlighted that the tour provided firsthand insight into the strides made by both the state and local government councils in improving citizens’ livelihoods under Governor Mai Mala Buni’s leadership. Notable projects observed during the journalists’ tour included significant advancements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

He noted Governor Buni’s dedication to enhancing the healthcare and education sectors, citing the establishment of 140 primary healthcare centers that have substantially improved healthcare accessibility, particularly for rural communities. Rajab also praised the state’s educational progress, exemplified by Yobe students’ outstanding performance in national examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB.

Additionally, the NUJ lauded the Buni-led administration for covering examination fees and professional registration costs for students, including those of the Nigerian Law School, ANAN, and ICAN, among others. During visits to various government facilities, the team observed the completion of ultra-modern markets in Damaturu, Nguru, and Gashua, with projects in Potiskum and Geidam nearing completion.

Expressing gratitude, the Yobe NUJ chairman emphasized Governor Buni’s exceptional warmth and support towards the media in the state, asserting his position as one of Nigeria’s most media-friendly governors.
