Yobe signs N22.3bn flyover, underpass contract
The Yobe government and Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited have signed a contract worth N22.3 billion for constructing a flyover and underpass in Damaturu.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the state Commissioner for Works, Mr Wakili Duddaye, and the firm’s Area Manager, Mr Habib Geojea, signed the agreement.
The contract was signed on behalf of the state and the firm, respectively.
Speaking in Damaturu on Thursday, Duddaye urged the contractor to adhere to the one-year completion period and other terms of the contract agreement.
He also announced that another contract for the Damaturu-Gambir road construction had been awarded to Elegance Construction Nigeria Ltd., with a nine-month completion period.
“Damaturu Metropolis will undergo a major transformation through 23.5 kilometres of roads, 27 kilometres of concrete drainage, and resurfacing of all major roads in the capital.

“The project will commence in the second quarter of 2025,” he said.
He emphasised that Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s administration prioritises infrastructural development, including roads, bridges, drainages, and other civil engineering works.
Duddaye stated that the projects would reduce traffic congestion and improve movement across the metropolis.
In his remarks, Geojea pledged to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with the contract specifications.
