Yobe SOLID project engages state durable solution technical group, focuses on MDAs collaboration.

The Yobe State Solutions for Internally Displaced Persons and Host Communities (SOLID) Project has held a strategic engagement with members of the State Durable Solutions Technical Working Group (TWG) at the SOLID Project Headquarters in Damaturu.
In a statement made available to newsmen by the communication and information officer of the project Ali Musa Yawale said the TWG members were led by Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje who also serves as the Coordinator, State Durable Solutions Secretariat.

The meeting chaired by the SOLID Project Coordinator, Suleiman Dauda was aimed at introducing the SOLID Project formally to the members of the TWG where discussions fucused on institutional coordination arrangements.
In his remarks, the Project Coordinator stated that SOLID Project operates through a structured partnership and coordination framework involving line MDAs, LGAs and community structures, the State Durable Solutions TWG, and development partners to ensure cohesive and effective implementation.
He further noted that the project was designed to transit beyond emergency response by addressing long-term recovery, resilience, and reintegration through institutionalized development-oriented support.
Suleiman Dauda highlighted that SOLID Project implementation will ensure strong ownership by government MDAs, particularly the Durable Solutions TWG, describing the Group as central to the state displacement policy coordination and implementation.
He stressed that SOLID is structured to work through existing institutions to ensure sustainability, accountability, and local ownership of outcomes.

Also speaking, Dr. Mohammed Goje highlighted the importance of strengthened coordination among government institutions in delivering lasting solutions to displacement challenges in Yobe State noting that the engagement would help reduce duplication, enhance synergy, and ensure that interventions deliver measurable improvements in the lives of IDPs and host communities.
It was agreed at the meeting to conduct a State-led desk review of all existing assessments and technical reports from relevant MDAs and development partners to consolidate available evidence on livelihoods in Yobe State.
“The outcome will produce a State Livelihood Baseline Report to guide prioritization, targeting, and sequencing of livelihood interventions under SOLID and the State’s durable solutions interventions.”
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both the SOLID Project and the Durable Solutions TWG to sustained collaboration in advancing durable solutions across Yobe State.
