Yobe state University get new VC, substantive registrar.

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Chiroman Gujba, has approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Bashir Tahir as the Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Damaturu.
The appointment was approved following a recommendation by the Governing Council of the University at its extraordinary meeting held on 15 January 2026.

Prof. Mohammed Bashir is a Professor of General Surgery, a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. Until his appointment, he was the Medical Director of the Ultra-Modern Police Hospital, Damaturu.
Similarly in a statement signed by the chairman governing council of the university Alhaji Ahmed Goniri Said the governor also approves the appointment of Mallam Isa Audu Dallari as substantive registrar of the university.
