Yobe teams set for National Hockey Super League
Yobe state female and male hockey teams are set for National hockey super league in Kaduna state.
The week-long competition which will be declared open on Saturday would host various hockey players across the states of the federation.
Addressing the desert rollers queens (females team) and Desert rollers (male team) in Damaturu, the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports development, Barma Shettima, on behalf of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni urged the contingents to be good ambassadors of the state.
Shettima stated that the state is with them and will continue to give them all the necessary supports that they required.
“I’m happy you have undergone series of training and re-training,so it’s our hope that you will come out as the best team by God Grace,” Commissioner said.

Responding, the captain of the female hockey team, Caroline Elise, promised to try their possible best to win the cup back to Yobe state.
In 2023, the desert rollers queens played third position while the desert rollers (Males team) played fourth position at the National hockey competition. (Blueprint)
