Yobe varsity gets acting VC

The Governing Council of Yobe State University, Damaturu, has approved the appointment of Prof. Bukar Jamri as the acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of the institution.

Hajiya Uwani-Mamuda,  the university’s Director, Information, said in a statement in Damaturu on Wednesday  that the appointment would take effect from Feb 13.

According to her, Jamri’s appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Mala Daura, the incumbent VC of the university.

She said the council also approved the appointment of Malam Garba Girgir, as the acting Registrar of the institution, with effect from Jan. 15.

The director said that the two appointments were approved at an extraordinary meeting of the council on Wednesday.

The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that until his appointment, Jamri was the Deputy VC, Administration, of the institution. (www.nannews.ng)
