Youth and community development: Yobe government embarked on construction of township stadiums.

Sport has a unique ability to bring people together, foster dialogue and promote unity, which are all essential for peacekeeping efforts.
Against this background, the Yobe state government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, awarded the contract for the construction of the townships stadium in Buni Yadi and Yunusari, as well as the remodelling of Dabo Aliyu stadium in Potiskum.
Inspecting the ongoing project site for the construction of a five-thousand capacity befitting township stadium in Buni Yadi the headquarters of the Gujba local government, the commissioner Ministry of Youth
Sport, social, and community development. Alhaji Barma Shettima expressed appreciation for executing a quality project and abiding by the contractual agreement.
Represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Muhammad Gidado Abubakar, the commissioner, Said, when completed the Buni Yadi township stadium will host tournaments and competitions within and outside the state.
“The present administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni is prioritising youth engagement and sport development as tools for social community development and talent discovery he said.
The permanent secretary expressed confidence that the stadium would be a valuable asset to the community, providing opportunities for youth to showcase their talents.

He used the medium and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni’s foresight in youth sport and social development across the state, adding that the construction and remodelling of stadiums would no doubt promote peace, unity and foster resilience among teeming youths.
Earlier, conducting the permanent secretary round the project site, the engineer handling the project, Murtala Salihu Murtala of Damuli Investment Company, assured to execute a quality project according to the contractual specification.
Engineer Murtala Salihu further commended Governor Buni’s developmental strides across the state.
The ongoing construction of Buni Yadi stadium will consist of a football pitch, volleyball, Basketball, hockey, among other sporting events.
