ZAMFARA AGENCY TO SPEND OVER N3 BILLION ON WORLD BANK/NG-CARES PROGRAMME
The Zamfara State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) would spend over N3 billion for its various projects through the World Bank-funded National COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES).
Alhaji Garba Muhammad, the Chief Executive Officer of CSDA, disclosed this to newsmen in Gusau on Wednesday.
The World Bank is to disburse $750 million USD to NG-CARES in Nigeria, to positively impact on lives of vulnerable Nigerians hit by the pandemic.

Under the arrangement, each state will receive $20 million dollars, over a period of two years, while FCT and Federal Care Support would each get $15 million dollars as from June 30.
Muhammad said that CSDA would carry out projects under Result Area 1 of the programme, to increase social transfers, basic services, and livelihood support to poor and vulnerable households.
“The state government led by Gov. Bello Matawalle made proper arrangement through the agency for the successful implementation of the programme in the state.
“Over N3 billion would be expended by the agency through various projects of improving the lives of vulnerable in the state; disables, women, children, health, education and community development projects for rural dwellers,” Muhammad said.
According to him, other multi-billion naira projects under Result Areas 2 and 3 of the programme will be conducted by the State Fadama Coordinating Office and State Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
