Zamfara Governor Pledges Swift Aid to Gusau Market Fire Victims

Gusau Governor Dauda Lawal has expressed unwavering dedication to providing comprehensive support to those affected by the recent fire outbreak at Gusau Central Market. The devastating incident, which occurred on Tuesday night, claimed one life and resulted in the destruction of over 50 shops.

In an official statement by Zamfara State Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal, while surveying the aftermath of the fire, affirmed his commitment to assisting the victims during this challenging time.

He assured the affected individuals and their families that the government would take every possible measure to ease their suffering and aid in their recovery.

Addressing the victims at Gusau Central Market, Governor Lawal extended condolences to the market’s leadership and the family of the deceased, emphasizing his government’s proactive efforts in market development even before the tragic incident.

He disclosed, “Even before the unfortunate fire incident, I constituted a committee to conduct a thorough investigation on how the government could intervene to enhance and develop the markets across the state.

My government is committed to supporting the victims of the fire incident and will explore various ways to mitigate their loss.”

Abdulrahman Tumbido, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, highlighted that the government swiftly initiated an emergency response to control and extinguish the fire.

In response, the Chairman of the Gusau Central Market conveyed gratitude to the Zamfara State Government for its prompt and effective response in the wake of the unfortunate incident.

As the community comes together to recover from this tragedy, Governor Lawal’s pledge reflects the government’s dedication to assisting and rebuilding the affected businesses and lives in Gusau.
