ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND REPEL BANDITS’ ATTACK IN ANKA LGA, RECOVER RUSTLED COWS—PPRO
The Zamfara State police command said that it has succeeded in repelling attack on fulani settlement in Anka Local Government Area of the state by suspected armed bandits and recovered rustled cows, the Public Relations Officer of the command SP Muhammad Shehu disclosed.
In a statement issued in Gusau on Thursday, Shehu noted that the suspected bandits stormed the settlement located at the outskirt of Anka town on Wednesday evening.
“On 2nd June, 2021 at about 1700hrs, police tactical operatives deployed to Anka LGA were alerted that, armed bandits in their hundreds stormed a fulani settlement located at the outskirt of Anka town with intent to attack and rustle cows belonging to the Fulani settlers.

“Combine Police team in Collaboration with the military mobilized to the scene where they engaged the hoodlums to a gun duel.
“As a result, they scampered to the forest and escaped with a possible gun shot wounds”, Shehu said.
According to him, all the rustled cows were recovered for the fulani communities from the attackers.
“Rigorous confidence building patrol is being sustained to avert any attempt by the bandits to regroup for another onslaught”, he added.
The commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Hussaini Rabiu therefore commended the joint security operatives for the resilience and urged them to sustain the tempo until lasting peace is restored in the state.
The CP further called on the general public to continue to support the police and other security agencies in the current fight against criminal elements in the state.
