ZAMFARA SOCIAL PROTECTION, CHILD PROTECTION BILLS SCALE SECOND READING
The Zamfara social protection and children protection bills have passed second readings by the state house of assembly.
The two bills scaled second reading during the assembly’s plenary on Wednesday.
This followed a motion on the two bills moved by the Majority Leader and Deputy Majority Leader of the house, Alhaji Faruku Dosara (APC, Maradun 2) and Nasiru Bello-Lawal (APC, Bungudu West) respectively.
The bills were, bill for a law to provide for the state social protection and other matters connected therewith 2022, and a bill for a law to provide for the state children protection and for other matters connected therewith.

The State Social Protection bill is a private member bill sponsored by deputy majority leader of the house, Nasiru Bello-Lawal while the Child Protection bill is an executive bill.
The Speaker, Nasiru Magarya directed the house committee on Women and Children Affairs to scrutinize the two bills and report back to the house in one month.
