ZAMFARA TO SPEND OVER N700 MILLION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COLLAPSE BRIDGES, COMMUNITY ROADS
The Zamfara State Government has said that it will spend N700 million for the reconstruction of five bridges that collapsed as a result of heavy down pour and some rural roads across four local government areas of the state.
The Commissioner for Rural and Community Development and Cooperatives, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Gurbinbore, announced this while inaugurating the projects at the 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army Cantonment Gusau.
Gurbinbore said that the project to be executed by his ministry
through direct labour.
He said the bridges to be reconstructed include one at Maigungumi and Tofa village near Dansadaunin Maru LGA, Bardoki Bridge connecting Gayari district with Gummi town and other parts of the state in Gummi LGA
A collapsed bridge connecting Gurusu and Nasarawa Bukulu in Bukuyum LGA and Ruwangora bridge in Talata Mafara LGA.

According to him other projects to be constructed by the state government through his ministry also included a 500-metre access road to Staff Primary School at 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army Cantonment, Gusau.
“You know, His Excellency Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun approved the said projects following series of complaints from the affected communities.
“We are committed to ensure timely completion of all the projects”, the Commissioner added.
