ZAMFARA WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTRY DISTRIBUTES CLOTHING MATERIALS TO WOMEN AS SALLAH PACKAGE

About 1000 women beneficiaries have received clothing materials from Zamfara State Ministry for Women Affairs as annual sallah package.

The clothing were distributed to the beneficiaries during the Annual Eid-El-Fitri preaching organized by the ministry.

Presenting the gesture to the beneficiaries, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi explained that, the gesture is part of annual sallah package to women provided by the ministry.

Gummi said the beneficiaries were comprised of widows, orphans and disables among others.

“Since the inception of the present administration led by Governor Bello Matawalle, this ministry have been distributing food items, clothes and empowerment tools to women at the end of every Ramadan aimed at reducing, poverty and hardship among them across the state.

“Women are the back bone of each society, they need to be supported, they need to be help in various aspects of the socio economic activities,

“This gesture will help them to uplift children in our environment,” she Said.

She further explained that, the present administration of Gov Matawalle is working tirelessly to empower women for them to become self reliant in future.

“Our aim is to engage them into different small scale businesses as to complement the efforts of the state government in reducing poverty in the state”, she added.

The Commissioner therefore appealed to citizens of the state to continue to support government and security agencies in an effort to provide lasting peace and stability in the state.

She called the parent and guidance to ensure close monitoring of their children in order to prevent them from rape and other details of the society.

“As we all know, that ministry has already embarked on creating awareness to members of the public on the dangers of rape in the society aimed at reducing the menace of the ugly act.,” she said.

She commended Gov Matawalle for initiating various programmes to uplift lives of women in the state.

In his remarks, one of the Islamic scholars in the state, Sheikh Nasiru Bala Bungudu while delivering the preaching at the event urged all well-meaning individuals in the state to continue supporting needy, and the less privilege.

Sheikh Bungudu urged muslims to uphold good attitude learnt from the month of ramadan.

He emphasized the need on parents and guidance to stand up to their responsibilities in training their wards to have good morals and behaviors considering the challenges in the present day society”, he added

One of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen at the venue of the event, Rabi Yarkari commended the effort of the Commissioner and staff of the ministry to promote lives of women and children in the state.
