Sylvanus Viashima
The South South Community in the FCT says it would only vote for a presidential candidate that has a positive agenda for the South South region.
Amb. Dickson Omoregie, President of the community made the declaration on Sunday in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.
Omoregie noted that the region was embroiled in both economic and environmental challenges which are surmountable but lamented why serious attention was not given to the challenges.
He said that the time have come for the region to take its destiny into it hands by only supporting a candidate that have love and concern for the region.
The Leader advised politicians in the region not to support candidates based on their personal interest but rather support candidates for the interest of the people of the region.
Omoregie advised people of the region to eschew political bitterness and conduct themselves in peaceful manner during and after electioneering campaigns.

” In his words, I am also advising politicians in the region to take the interest of the region above personal interest and caution those who would want to instigate violence and hate among the people of the region for their selfish gains to have a rethink and avoid such because the people would resist such tactics with all vehemence as they are now wiser.
“Several presidential candidates in the coming general election have being coming to South South to canvas for support.
“I will advise my people to be very careful and shouldn’t be carried away by their flamboyant cosmetic campaigns but identity a candidate who has a positive agenda for the South South region.
“I also advise our youth being used by politicians to remember that there is life after election and that it does not take politicians more than ten minutes to reconcile among themselves no matter the level of their differences while their followers remain in their violence and hate among themselves which is not good for the peaceful people of the region.
