3 Corps Members To Repeat Service Year For Absconding,10 Others Have Their Service Extended In Sokoto

Three  members of the 2022 Batch “B” Stream 1of  National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Sokoto  State are to repeat their service year for abscondment while ten others have their service extended for various offenses.  

The NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Yaro (YY)  stated  this on Thursday  in Sokoto during the passing out of corps members who served in the state.

Usman explained that 835 corps members successfully completed their service in the state.

According to the Coordinator they comprised  557 males and 179 females that successfully completed their service year while three out of the number absconded.

The Coordinator monitored the issuance of discharge certificates to deserving corps members in Wamakko Sokoto North, Sokoto South local  government areas of the state.

Usman disclosed that NYSC is a place of reward and punishment stressing no erring corps members will go unpunished.

He enjoined the outgoing corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme saying he wish them good luck in their future endeavors.

He implored them to maximize the skills aquisition and entrepreneurship development training they undergo during the service year to enable them to be self reliance and employer of labours.

Some of the Corps members who spoke with our correspondent were full of joy and happiness to God for seeing  them through the service year.
