8 Div. Troops Eliminates Several Lakurawa Terrorists, Recovers Machine Guns, Other Weapons In Kebbi

In continuation of their determination to clear all terrorists enclaves, troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA in an offensive operations in Arewa Dandi local government area of Kebbi state eliminated several Lakurawa terrorists and recovered high calibre machine guns.
The troops who advanced through identified terrorists’ enclaves around Gumki general area in Arewa Dandi LGA of Kebbi State, made contact with the terrorists along the fridges of Nigeria- Niger borders.
On sighting the terrorists, troops engaged them with superior firepower thereby eliminating several of them while others abandon their positions and flee into the deep forest.

A follow-up operations and a thorough search of the general area by the troops of Sector 2 Joint Operation FASAN YAMMA led to the recovery of significant arms, ammunition,and mobility assets, which include One PKT Machine Gun,AK 47 Rifles, large quantity of 7.62 x 54mm belted ammunition and 7.62mm Special, 4 motorcycles, 2 smart phones, the sum of Eighty Seven Thousand Naira and assorted combat and miscellaneous items
Currently, troops maintain a strong operational posture and continue to dominate the general area to ensure the total security of surrounding communities.
