Bagudu calls for greater partnership between Government, CSOs to bolster good governance, provision of amenities

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu,has suggested robust partnerhsips between the three tiers of government and the Civil Society Organization’s ( CSOs), to bolster good governance.
This robust partnership, he also noted, were the needed to ensure the steady provision of the direly needed dividends of democracy to the cross section of the people of the state.
Bagudu spoke on Monday, in Birnin Kebbi, when he received the officials and members of Kebbi Civil Society Forum ( KECSOF) in Government House Birnin Kebbi on a courtesy call.

According to the Governor : ” The government does not have the monopoly of wisdom and it cannot do everything alone.
” We need the participation of all, especially the CSOs , because, they always have considered opinions .
” By doing so, we will turn all challenges into opportunities and work together,for the betterment of all and sundry .
” This is also to ensure that, all actions are not based on mere presumptions, but, on well informed views .
” This will eventually result in the formulation and implementation of plausibe policies and programmes.”
Bagudu further challenged the CSOs, to seek to engage the government, rather than,” waiting to be invited by the government.”
The Kebbi State Governor also expressed the unwavering commitment of his administration to engage them, urging,” you should also do the same , to have the needed paradigm shift.”
Bagudu further expressed optimism that, with the advocated partnership, the people of the state will be more empowered, while the provision of amenities and myriad of emporwent schemes will be evolved.
” Whatever we do together should be cascaded to the lowest levels, hence , help in improving the lives of the people , as well as combating vices like drugs abuse, rape and banditry,among others ,” he admonished.
Bagudu extolled the extant cordial relationship between his administration and the CSOs and urged that, that the tempo should be sustained.
Earlier, the President of the forum , Muhammed Bello Abubakar told the governor that the Kebbi Civil Society Forum was formed by patriotic youths drawn from the 21 local government areas of the State.
The association he said is built on the basis of ideology to contribute to the development of the state and through the communities.
He highlighted some of the activities of the association to include environmental sanitation to compliment effort of the Government considering the huge amount of money spent by Government in making sure the state remains clean all the time.
The organization he further said organised a brainstorming session with stakeholders on incessant cases of rape and kidnapping which led to the emergence of state legislation which the governor had assented to.
Abubakar mentioned also that the organization had carried out community to community sensitization on Covid -19 and planed to embark on local government tour to sensitize the youths on the dangers of drug abuse and other social vices however solicited for government financial assistance for the success of the program.
He appealed to Kebbi State Governor to revive Vocational Training Schools so as to equip the youths with skills to become self reliant.
The President of the forum presented to the governor a letter appointing him as ‘ Ambassador of Progressive Service ‘ by the forum while announcing the names of the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Ismaila Muhammadu Mera, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu (Jarman Kabi), Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro (Enabo) PA to the governor and Alhaji Abubakar Dutsinmari, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance as patrons
Others include, Alhaji Sani Dododo, Special Adviser, SEMA and the Commissioner of Works, Alhaji Abubakar Ladan while the emir of Gwandu as the grand patron of the organization.
