Emir tasks title holders on development, service to humanity
The Emir of Katagum in Bauchi State, Alhaji Farouk Umar II, has urged title holders to be committed towards improving social and economic well-being of the people at the grassroots.
He gave the charge during the turburning of Audu Sule-Katagum as the ninth Wazirin Katagum (Senior Official and Administrative Adviser to the emir), on Saturday in Azare.
The emir also turbaned two other title holders at a colourful ceremony at his palace in Azare, headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
Umar admonished the newly appointed title holders to work diligently and remained upright in discharging their duties to encourage social and economic development of the people in the state.
The royal father also enjoined them to shun acts capable of tarnish the image of the emirate council, adding that their appointment was based on merit.

“Always justify the confidence reposed in you by being steadfast and provide meaningful advice to the emirate,” he said
Born in 1957 in Azare town, Sule-Katagum served as deputy to the former Bauchi Govenor, Mohammed Abubakar from 2018 to 2019.
