Shettima Flags Off ‘Light Up Nigeria’ Project in Enugu State
Enugu State witnessed a significant milestone on Tuesday as Senator Kashima Shettima formally inaugurated the Light Up Nigeria, South East project aimed at addressing the long-standing power supply deficit in the country. The initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to boost the nation’s economy and foster industrialization.
The event, which drew political and business leaders from the region, showcased the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to prioritize initiatives like the Light Up Nigeria Project. Senator Shettima emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step towards reviving the economy and providing much-needed relief to industrialists, investors, and ordinary Nigerians who have endured the repercussions of inadequate power supply for years.
The project, a collaborative effort between the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) and its partners, aims to overhaul Nigeria’s infrastructure framework. By empowering citizens and reinforcing the economic policies of the Tinubu administration, it seeks to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the nation.
Following the launch in Enugu, Senator Shettima proceeded to Aba, Abia State, where he commissioned the 181MW Geometric power plant. This strategic move is designed to bolster power supply to industrial clusters in the region, further supporting the growth and development of key economic sectors.
