249

Borno state is poised to embrace a new era with the upcoming establishment of a Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) station in Gwoza local government area.

Spearheaded by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, the Senate Majority Whip representing Borno South, this initiative is set to complement existing radio stations in the state.

The radio station, strategically facilitated by Senator Ndume, aims to go beyond conventional broadcasting. While addressing the vital pillars of education, information, and entertainment, it will also play a pivotal role in promoting peace, culture, traditions, and languages unique to the region.

This multifaceted approach is a testament to the commitment to not only inform but also celebrate the rich tapestry of Borno’s heritage.

Engr Sanda Damboama, the Director of Engineering at FRCN, has already touched down in Gwoza, accompanied by a dedicated team to assess potential sites for the station. Prince Ibrahim Askirama, Abba Chupun (MAN) represented senator Ndume and were actively engaged in the monitoring and site inspection process.

Various locations, including the former Nitel office, Gwoza veterinary, and a promising virgin land beside Tashan Damboa, are under consideration for the station’s establishment.
Senator Ndume’s commitment to serving his constituents is evident in initiatives such as the establishment of this Federal Radio Station.

As Borno embarks in the waves of change and progress heralded by this project, it marks a crucial step towards fostering unity, communication, and celebration of the vibrant cultural mosaic that defines the state.
