Guard prevailing peace, Gov. Yahaya urges Gombe residents
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has urged residents to guard the prevailing peace in the state.
Yahaya who made the call during his Sallah message in Gombe on Thursday said the peaceful coexistence amongst residents was one of the reasons the Eid el-Fitr celebration was observed in the state.
He stressed that peace was needed to bring development to the state and that was why his administration was taking the necessary steps to guarantee peace in the state.

“We thank God that Gombe State amongst others is the most peaceful and I can make bold to say we are the most peaceful in Nigeria,” the governor stated.
He urged citizens of the state to continue in the spirit of Eid el-Fitr and the just concluded Easter to maintain the peaceful and harmonious relationship that existed amongst them.
“We will continue to guard the peace and tranquillity that exist in Gombe State and pray Allah to give us peace in Nigeria,” he said.
Yahaya added that the role that Nigeria played in Africa had made it imperative for “us to live peacefully, harmoniously and to cherish and live together to sustain peace and tranquillity.”
He called for collective efforts by all stakeholders to support the government in its efforts to promote peace and development in the state.
