Gov.Buni elevates Yobe healthcare delivery and medical education

The Yobe state Branch of the Nigeria Medical Association has identified with the remarkable achievements of the Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration in changing the landscape of healthcare delivery in the state through fruitful reforms.
The association in a statement signed by the Chairman Dr Usman Waziri, said “as principal partners in providing Healthcare services in the state, we acknowledge the establishment of the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, the Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Agency.
” Similarly, the establishment of the State Emergency Ambulance Services, the State Healthcare and Related Facilities Inspection and Monitoring Agency, the upgrading of four General Hospitals to Specialist Hospitals, and upgrading of four Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCC) to General Hospitals have improved Healthcare delivery across the state” it said.
The Association also acknowledged the recruitment of over 2,000 healthcare workers and the provision of modern equipment to secondary and tertiary healthcare centers as great intervention that has improved Healthcare services in government health facilities across the state.
The review and enhancement of hazard allowances, along with implementation of salary adjustments for skipping and relativity have motivated efficiency among medical workers.

“Worthy of note is the Implementation of the 2019 CONMESS, Support for the accreditation of the Department of Community Medicine at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital for postgraduate training, as well as providing support for the accreditation of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Yobe State Specialist Hospital by the West African College of Surgeons for postgraduate training, and the ccreditation of the College of Medical Sciences for undergraduate medical training.
The medical practitioners described the intervention by the Buni administration as major commitment to elevating healthcare delivery and medical education in Yobe State.
“Our recognition of these monumental strides is to appreciate and support the government in providing more Healthcare services to the people” the association emphasized.
