Gov. Yusuf’s WINSEC distinguished leadership award well deserved, says NAWOJ
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kano State chapter, has congratulated Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf on receiving the WINSEC Distinguished Leadership Award for Peace, Security, and Good Governance.
The association conveyed the congratulatory message in a statement jointly signed by its Chairperson, Sayyida Bahijja Malam-Kabara, and Secretary, Maryam Muhammad-Yakasai, issued on Friday in Kano.
It stated that the award was presented to the governor during the Women in Security Summit and Awards 2026 held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
According to the association, the honour reflects Yusuf’s commitment to promoting peace, security, good governance, and the welfare of the people of Kano State.

NAWOJ described the recognition as well deserved, noting that the governor’s leadership had continued to support initiatives aimed at fostering stability and development in the state.
The association observed that leadership anchored on peace and security remained vital to creating an enabling environment for sustainable development, especially for women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
It added that recognising leaders who promote responsible governance and societal progress would encourage greater commitment to public service and national development.
NAWOJ also joined other stakeholders and residents of Kano state in celebrating the governor on the achievement.
The association wished Gov. Yusuf continued wisdom, strength, and success in serving the people of the state.
