NACCIMA President Holds Strategic Engagement with TETFUND Executive Secretary
Engr (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), engaged in a high-level strategic meeting with Arc. Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), yesterday, in Abuja.

The meeting, held at the TETFUND headquarters, focused on exploring collaborative opportunities to enhance skills development in Nigeria’s workforce, leveraging private sector expertise to improve tertiary education infrastructure, joint funding initiatives for research and development in key sectors.
During the visit, Dr. Ibrahim was warmly received by Arc. Echono, and the two leaders engaged in productive conversations aimed at strengthening the partnership between NACCIMA and TETFUND.
Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to achieve improved access to quality education, enhanced skills development, a more robust Nigerian economy.
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) was established in 1960. The Association is the umbrella organisation for various affliate member Chambers of Commerce within Nigeria.
The Association’s membership is voluntary and encompasses City, State and Bilateral Chambers; Business/Professional Associations; and Corporate Bodies. The Association champions the course of business through its advocacy role and influences public policies that promote free enterprise.

There are four primary functions of NACCIMA:
1. NACCIMA acts as a spokesman for the business and professional community and translates the group thinking of members into action.
2. NACCIMA renders special products and services to members which are effectively beneficial to business, Nigeria and members as a whole.
3. NACCIMA’s mission is to create an environment in which businesses can prosper
The main function of NACCIMA is to promote interest in local business possibilities.
4. NACCIMA works to accomplish these goals by championing different functions: economic developer and planner; tourist information centre; business spokesperson; economic counsellor and teacher; government relations specialist; human resources adviser and public relations practitioner.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) is a Nigerian Federal Government agency established to manage and disburse education tax revenues to public tertiary institutions. It was created to improve the quality of education in these institutions through various interventions and projects.
TETFund’s primary source of funding is a 3% education tax on the assessable profits of registered companies in Nigeria.
TETFund provides financial support to public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria.
