The Usman Ali Suleiman Charity Foundation has inaugurated the enrollment of 2,000 orphans and vulnerable children from Nangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency into primary schools across Yobe.
The exercise, held on Saturday in Potiskum, has the theme: ‘Education for Every Child: Supporting His Excellency Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s Vision for a Literate Yobe’.
Mr Mohammed Ibrahim, Director of the foundation, said the initiative was aimed at complementing government’s efforts towards reducing the number of out-of-school children in the state.
He stated that the intervention was conceived to address the educational setbacks caused by insurgency, which had left many children without access to formal education.
“Yobe is one of the states affected by insurgent activities, which disrupted education and left thousands of children idle.
“We decided to act now by enrolling 2,000 pupils into various primary schools across Potiskum and Nangere, ” Ibrahim said.
He explained that the foundation placed priority on education as a key tool to rebuilding communities and secure the future of the younger generation.

“The foundation has demonstrated true commitment to humanity,” Gujba said.
A parent, Malam Muhammad Abba, expressed gratitude to the foundation for assisting orphans and vulnerable children, saying that the initiative brought hopes to many disadvantaged families.
He urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the foundation’s effort in supporting the state government’s drive for inclusive education.
