Nasarawa APC receives Sen. Wadada, promises fair treatment
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasarawa State chapter has promised to give equal and level play ground to all aspirants in 2027 general elections.
Dr Aliyu Bello, the state APC Chairman, made the promise while formally receiving Sen. Ahmed Wadada, who recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (APC) alongside his supporters into the party Monday in Lafia.
Bello said that the APC in the state was waxing stronger and more united under the leadership of Gov Abdullahi Sule.
“We are here today to welcome Sen. Ahmed Wadada, who for one reason or the others left APC to SDP, and he has now returned to his original party.
“I am happy to announce to you that we just issued him a new membership card.
“As we received you today, we will treat you as a bonafide member of the party just like every other member,” he said.
The party chairman advised Wadada, a governorship aspirant to relate well with other aspirants, noting that whoever emerged as candidate would be supported to ensure that the party claims victory in 2027.
“Every body cannot be a governor at the same time. Constitutionally, only one person that can be governor per time and only God that knows the person will be,” Bello said.
On his part, Gov. Sule, who also received Wadada at the Government House, commended him for taking the bold step to returning to the party.
“I thank you for choosing to return to our party, I thank you for believing in our party,” the governor said.
He also commended the state party chairman for doing a good job of wooing more party members, who left to other political parties back into the APC fold.
The governor also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for initiating courageous reforms that endeared some governors and high profile individuals to defect to the APC.
“They are coming into our party not necessarily for them to win elections but because they align themselves with the policies of Mr President.
“I want to thank all the members of the State House of Assembly, for continuing to return to our party. We started only with nine members but today we have 15 APC assembly members,” Sule said.
Earlier, Wadada said that he was at the Government House alongside his supporters to formally inform the governor of his return to the APC.

He commended Sule’s purposeful leadership, which he said had brought peace and development to the state.
“I am here to tell you, I have returned to my home, the home that I had laboured for, served and contributed to its growth and development.
“Our supporters are here in their numbers, not just because they love Wadada, No matter how much they love Wadada, if the state is not peaceful, we wouldn’t have been able to be here, the party wouldn’t have even welcomed me,” he said.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that Wadada also gave out 18 vehicles to the party chairman across the 13 Local Government Areas, Zonal chairmen and others.
