“As you may be aware government drew a line towards making the potentialities of the agricultural aspect so easy for Yobe farmers, saying these were done through the provision of adequate and timely agricultural inputs Buni said”
He further stated that during the 2024 and 2025 farming season, the government distributed multi-billion naira implements, including certified seed, tractors, power tillers, trashers, and solar-powered water pumps, among others.
Buni charged onion farmers to utilise the gesture judiciously to improve onion productivity and availability not only in Yobe but in Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor reaffirmed that only in Yobe were tractors worth over billions of naira distributed to farmers for free.
In his remarks, the executive secretary of the National Agricultural Development Fund, Alhaji Muhammad Habu Ibrahim, said the intervention is part of the federal government’s unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable farming communities across Nigeria, particularly those affected by recent flooding and other climate-related shocks.
Represented by Mika’il Haruna Daya, the intervention directly benefited over 20 thousand onion farmers towards the recovery initiative of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
