Fulani Leader Urges Press to be objective in reporting Fulani issues

The National President of Kautul Pulaku Fulbe Association of Nigeria (KPFAN) Alhaji Husseini Buzaye has called on journalists and media organisations to be objective when reporting issues related to the Fulani across the country.
Buzaye, who made the call in Jalingo during the inauguration of the State Executive of the association also urged Fulani communities in Nigeria to embrace western education to enable them remain relevant in the scheme of things.

The leader noted that there is serious nagative profiling of the Fulani in the country and that has created stereotypes that could potentially endanger every Fulani person all over.
He said lack of education among Fulani community was responsible for the backwardness the Fulani community is facing in the country and that proper education will enable the Fulani adopt to the modern approach of livestock production which gives more profit compared to their current traditional methods of livestock production.

He also urged Fulani community to register in the on going voters registration exercise to ensure that they participate in the country’s democratic process.
Speaking at the occasion, the State Governor Agbu Kefas who was represented by Alh Bello Mbela, Special Adviser Farmer/Herders Relations, congratulated the new Exco and reiterate the commitment of the State government in ensuring peace and stability across the State.
The new State Chapter Chairman of the Association Alhaji Ardo Sa’e Musa in his remarks pledged to work with all stakeholders to ensure peaceful coexistence between Fulani and their neighbours and promised to prioritise the safety and well-being of all Fulani across the State.
