Plateau: Police beef up security in attacked communities
The Police Command in Plateau has deployed additional personnel to some attacked communities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Mr Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Jos.
Alabo said that Mr Bassey Ewah, the Commissioner of Police in the state, approved the deployment, following the rising spate of attacks on the communities.
He added that the move aimed at strengthening its efforts towards restoring peace in communities and protecting lives and property.
“The deployment followed the attacks on some communities in Barkin Ladi LGA.
“The commissioner of Police immediately approved the deployment of additional troops for reinforcement in the area.

“The personnel will simply respond swiftly to security breach and ensure the safety of citizens.
“The personnel will maintain aggressive patrol, intelligent gathering and community engagement to prevent further break down of law and order in the communities,” he said.
Alabo urged Plateau residents to support the security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would help in tackling criminal activities.
He, however, warned criminal elements to desist from any act capable of threatening peace in the area.
The PPRO stressed that security agencies would not tolerate any act of violence on innocent citizens in the state.
