Arsenal crowned Premier League Champions at Palace
Arsenal F.C. were officially crowned Premier League champions on Sunday after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace F.C. at Selhurst Park, sealing a historic title triumph for manager Mikel Arteta and his players.
Goals from Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus and England winger Noni Madueke secured Arsenal’s 26th league victory of the season, capping off a remarkable campaign that saw the North London club finally end a 22-year wait for the English league title.
Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta pulled a goal back in the second half to raise hopes of a comeback for the home side, but Arsenal maintained composure to secure all three points before jubilant travelling supporters.
Arsenal had already been confirmed champions on Tuesday night after defending champions Manchester City F.C. failed to defeat Bournemouth, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side four points behind with only one match remaining. The result ended Manchester City’s dominance of English football after several consecutive title-winning seasons.

The triumph marks Arsenal’s 14th English league title and their first since the legendary 2003/2004 “Invincibles” campaign under former manager Arsène Wenger, when the club completed the season unbeaten.
Arteta, who took charge of Arsenal in 2019, has gradually rebuilt the team with a blend of experienced stars and young talents including Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, William Saliba, and Declan Rice. After finishing runners-up in recent seasons, Arsenal finally achieved consistency both defensively and offensively to reclaim the title.
“This is a special moment for the club, the players, and the supporters,” Arteta said after the match. “We worked extremely hard for this, and everyone deserves this success.”
Supporters flooded the streets around the Emirates Stadium and parts of North London in celebration after the final whistle, with many describing the triumph as the beginning of a new era for the club.
Attention now shifts to Europe as Arsenal prepare for the UEFA Champions League final against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30. Victory there would complete a memorable double for the English champions.
