APC stakeholders endorse Yakubu-Danladi, back Kwara Gov’ship primaries

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara have affirmed the outcome of the party’s governorship primary election.

The election produced Salihu Yakubu-Danladi as its candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The affirmation is contained in a statement on Sunday signed by prominent party leaders and elected officials from Offa.

They described the primary election as legitimate, valid and conducted in full compliance with the APC constitution, guidelines and democratic principles.

“The emergence of Yakubu-Danladi reflected the collective will of party members and (we) insisted that the outcome remained binding on all organs and members of the party”.

According to them, any attempt to question or reopen the outcome of the primary election would undermine internal democracy and create unnecessary divisions within the party.

The stakeholders also declared their total endorsement of Yakubu-Danladi, describing him as a competent and experienced leader capable of consolidating the achievements of the APC administration in Kwara.

They noted that the former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly emerged through a competitive and transparent process and urged party members across the state to unite behind his candidacy ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The group called on all APC faithful to put aside differences and work collectively to secure victory for the party in the next general election.

The stakeholders further passed a vote of confidence on Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commending his leadership and contributions to governance and party development in the state.

They praised the governor for strengthening party structures, promoting good governance and aligning the state with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC leadership in Kwara, the stakeholders pledged to mobilise support for the party and its candidates in the 2027 elections.

They also cautioned party members against actions or statements capable of creating confusion, disunity or factionalisation within the party.

“The APC remains a united political family, and we are committed to defending its integrity, upholding its democratic processes and ensuring victory for all its candidates in future elections,” the statement said.

The statement was signed by Gbenga Yussuf, Seun Ogunniyi, Amina El-Imam, Suleiman Omituntun, Hassan Oyeleke, Abdulhakeem Adebiyi, Femi Agbaje, Tade Shittu, Kunle Adegboye and Layi Oyediran.
