Military unveils growth, welfare agenda under new leadership at DPL
The Defence Properties Limited (DPL) says it is repositioning its operations for greater productivity, expanded real estate activities and improved welfare of Armed Forces personnel.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of DPL, Maj.-Gen. Isaiah Allison, disclosed this in a statement issued by the company’s management on Friday in Abuja.
Allison assumed office on July 10, 2026, succeeding Brig.-Gen. Sebhil Adeyemo, at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Guzape, Abuja.
He said the new administration was focused on strengthening DPL’s operations and expanding its capacity to generate resources for effective administration and personnel welfare.
According to him, the approach is also aimed at ensuring effective management of defence properties for the benefit of personnel of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force.
“The development is in line with the strategic philosophy of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, anchored on greater jointness, sound administration and improved welfare.
“The philosophy seeks to strengthen the operational capacity of the Armed Forces while sustaining its core responsibility of safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and prosperity,” he said.
Allison said DPL had commenced steps to translate the strategic priorities into practical initiatives capable of improving productivity and service delivery.
He said the company’s maiden retreat, themed “Launching Out with Clarity and Focus,” was part of efforts to provide clear direction for the new administration.
According to him, the retreat, held from Aug. 14 to Aug. 16 at the Armed Forces Officers’ Mess, Asokoro, Abuja, enabled staff to review operations and identify strategies for improved performance.
Allison said staff development remained central to the administration’s strategy, stressing that a motivated and professionally equipped workforce was critical to achieving the company’s objectives.

He said the administration would also expand DPL’s real estate activities across the country as part of efforts to improve productivity and strengthen its contribution to personnel welfare.
The Managing Director said the company had commenced inspection of its facilities to assess their condition and identify opportunities for improved utilisation.
He added that DPL was strengthening collaboration with sister companies under Defence Holdings Company Limited to promote efficiency and explore areas of mutual benefit.
“Accordingly, DPL on Aug. 21 paid courtesy visits to Defence Farms/Agro-Allied Products Limited and Defence Engineering Services Limited.
“The visits provided an opportunity for the companies to identify areas of cooperation and strengthen synergy within the Defence Holdings Company Limited,” he added
Allison said the new administration would remain focused on building a more productive and sustainable DPL capable of contributing to the welfare of Armed Forces personnel.
He said the company’s long-term objective was to combine sound administration, business growth and effective management of defence properties to deliver greater value to the Armed Forces.
According to him, the DPL management remains committed to supporting the broader welfare objectives of the Armed Forces through affordable housing and other property-related initiatives.
