2027: May God deliver Nigeria, Ogun into hands of good, responsible leaders – PDP dep. guber candidate
Alhaja Lateefat Kolapo, Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Ogun on Sunday, offered prayers for the nation, asking the Almighty God to deliver Nigeria and the state into the hands of good and responsible leaders in 2027.
Kolapo also prayed for leaders, who would prioritise the welfare of the people, promote peace and justice, and provide purposeful governance for the benefit of present and future generations.
The deputy governorship candidate offered the prayers at the 50th Anniversary Service of the Diocese of Egba, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Ijemo, Abeokuta.
She reaffirmed commitment to religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and unity.
Representing Chief Olumide Aderinokun, as Chairman of the Day, Kolapo described the gathering of believers as a platform that transcended religious boundaries.
She said that she had also attended the 60th Olohungbo Maulud Nabiyy anniversary overnight but the resultant fatigue did not deter her from attending the Anglican anniversary thanksgiving.
She expressed belief that people of faith could celebrate God together in spite belonging to different religious traditions.“I believe in the gathering of the believers. Whenever people gather to praise and worship God, I am always happy to be part of it,” Kolapo said.

She added that her participation was more about promoting love, understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
“We were at the 60th Olohungbo Maulud Nabiyy anniversary overnight, I got home this morning, and here I am to celebrate with my Christian brothers and sisters.
“As Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, I am delighted to join my Christian brethren in giving thanks to God. Praise and worship unite us beyond religious lines,” she said.
Kolapo congratulated the Anglican community on its 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as an opportunity to appreciate God’s faithfulness and recognise the church’s contributions to the spiritual and social development of the community over the past five decades.
Kolapo attended the anniversary alongside prominent PDP chieftains, including the state chairman of the party, Dr. Abayomi Tella; Deputy Chairman, Mr Ogunremi Abiodun; and the Abeokuta South House of Reps candidate, Mr Toyin Amuzu, among others.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the thanksgiving service brought together church leaders, political figures, traditional stakeholders, members of the community and other well-wishers to celebrate five decades of the Diocese of Egba’s service, growth and impact.
