Yobe CP seeks stronger security partnership with NEDC

The Commissioner of Police in Yobe, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has called for stronger security collaboration with the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Yobe Police Public Relations officer, Yusuf Adamu Aliyu on Monday.

Jibrin, who led members of his  team on a visit to the NEDC office in Damaturu, called for continued support to promote peace, security and development in the state.

The commissioner underscores the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in addressing security challenges and promoting sustainable development.

He reiterated the commitment of the command to engaging relevant stakeholders in efforts to protect lives and property and maintain lasting peace across the state

Responding, the NEDC Coordinator, Prof. Ali Abbas,  assured the command of the commission’s continued cooperation and support.

Abbas said one of the commission’s core mandates was to promote a peaceful society, adding that the police remained a key stakeholder in achieving that objective.
