Armed Forces Day: Army Holds Jumaat Prayer For Fallen Heroes

As part of activities to commemorate the year 2021Armed forces day Islamic faithful among officers and men of the Nigeria Army held Jumaat Prayer for Fallen heroes at 8 division central Mosque Ginginya Barrack , Sokoto

Addressing the congregants the Chief Imam of the 8 Division Major Shehu Abdullahi urged them to give reverence to God because he owns their lives.

He added that God is the one who has been protecting them and be with them in all operations.

Speaking shortly after the prayer the general officer command (GOC) 8 division Maj Gen Usman Yusuf said the significance of the day is to pray for the fallen heroes and also for the army in all their operations.

Gen Yusuf disclosed that Army also use the opportunity to pray for the reposed of the soul of the former chief of army staff Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers who lost their lives recently in the plane crashed.

He further disclosed that as part of army Civic responsibility to the people it would carry out environmental sanitation in the state.

He also divulged that there would be interdenominational prayer at Protestant church at Ginginya Barracks on Sunday by 9am.

Gen Yusuf added that on Monday the army medical personnel would offer free medical services to the people of the state

He enjoined general public to provide army with useful information to help them get rid of criminals in the country stressing that army is resilient in it effort to protect the nation,s territorial integrity.

“At times when army are set for operation some civilians would snap them and send the video to the insurgent for an ambush this kind of behavior is worrisome he stated.

He said army would not relent in it effort to safeguard the country .
