Abductors of Taraba House of Assembly member demanded for millions of naira

The abductors of the Chairman Taraba State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Hon. Bashir Mohammed on Thursday put a call to his family members and demanded for millions of naira.
A family member who does not want his name mention told selected journalists the Kidnappers called from their hideout and requested for millions of naira before he can be released.
“They called and demanded for millions of naira, if not government and good spirited people to come to our aid, where can we get such millions” he said.
Hon Bashir was kidnapped at his resident in the early hours of Wednesday 9th/12/ 2020 at about 1am.
The spokesperson of the Taraba State Police command DSP David Misal while confirming his abduction said that the command received a distress call in the early hours of Wednesday about a shootout and on arriving the scene, he was informed that the member representing Nguroje constituency was taken.
According to him, the command was trailing the kidnappers and hope to catch up with them soon and ensure his safe release.
He appeal to anyone with useful intelligence to come forward to aid their work.
He assured Tarabans of the command unwavering resolve to rid the state of crime and provide safety for the people at all times.
