183

In a display of desperation, some inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory took matters into their own hands by pillaging a warehouse owned by the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA).

Reports indicate that the raid on the warehouse occurred during the early hours of Sunday.

Situated in the Karimo area of Phase 3 in the FCT, Abuja, the warehouse fell victim to the actions of these residents who made off with essential food supplies and other provisions.

In response to the incident, officers from the Nigeria Police Force swiftly moved in to disband the looters and safeguard the premises.

Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, verified the occurrence when contacted. She reassured that the situation had been contained, stating, “The situation is now under control.”
