ADSU OFFERS AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT TO BEST OVERALL QUALIFYING CANDIDATE AT THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF NIGERIA ( ICAN) PROFESSIONAL LEVEL EXAMINATIONS FOR 2021
The Governing Council of Adamawa State University, Mubi has handed an automatic employment to Miss Hope Elijah Tumba a First Class graduate of Economics from the University.
She emerged the best overall qualifying candidate at the may,2021 Professional Level qualifying examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
The 24 year old, Hope Tumba, hails from Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State and holds B. Sc Economics, First Class from the state university in 2019 and currently pursuing M. Sc at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Hope also became best graduating student Michika/Madagali constituency from 2009/2010 to 2018/2020 academic sessions and also bagged Federal Government Scholarship Board award 2016-2017.

The young lady emerged the over all best qualifying candidate at the professional level in the ICAN Professional examination held in may 2021. She was presented the award at the 68th ceremony for new members held in November she also won co- prize for Advanced Taxation best qualifying candidate in the ICAN May, 2021 diet.
She bagged the Society of Women Accountants prize for over all best qualifying female candidate in the ICAN May, 2021 diet,and the prize for best qualifying female candidate in the ICAN 2021 at the 68th induction ceremony.
She did her mandatory National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) at Neuropsychiatries Hospital Barnawa, Kaduna, 2019-2020 and Internship at UF-IDIAGI and Co. firm of Chartered Accountants as Account Officer, 2020 to date.
Speaking while receiving the student at the university liaison office in Yola, on Wednesday, the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Hon. Awwal D. Tukur, said the young lady has made the university and the entire Adamawa state proud.
The Chairman who was visibly elated further stated that to be the best qualifying candidate at the ICAN Professional level exams in the whole nation is not a small feat and congratulated her for being focused and proving her worth.
Hon. Tukur, disclosed that it is a thing of joy for Adamawa citizens, and that the council felt is good to honour/reward her and present her as a beacon, saying that she is a resource that cannot be wasted.
He therefore, declared that with the mandate of the council as chairman and that of the Vice Chancellor offer her automatic employment in the university.
Earlier, speaking while presenting the girl to the council, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Kaletapwa G. Farauta, said that the institution is proud of Miss Tumba. She said her achievement is a boost to the staff in the Department and University at large.
Prof. Farauta, added that it gladdens her heart as a mother that their daughters have hope in the future and pleaded with her to take personal responsibility in mentoring all the girls that will come in contact with her outside her official schedules when she finally comes on board.
